ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for our first-ever Senior Risk Manager to join our Team. This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead our risk management function from scratch, partnering directly with our leadership team. You will be responsible for creating policies, processes, and controls to protect the company from regulatory, financial, operational, and cyber risks while enabling us to grow securely.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Establish our risk framework from scratch: develop policies, processes, and controls to identify, assess, and monitor enterprise risks across all departments (finance, legal, tech, compliance, sales).

• Maintain and grow a risk register: categorize and prioritize strategic, operational, financial, cyber, and regulatory risks, reporting regularly to leadership with dashboards and key risk indicators.

• Lead business continuity and crisis planning: prepare playbooks for outages, fraud incidents, and reputational issues.

• Collaborate on cybersecurity and IT risk: work closely with the Security/Cybersecurity team to ensure controls are in place for data protection, access monitoring, and incident response.

• Manage vendor and third-party risk: assess risks from cloud providers, payment processors, and integrations.

• Ensure compliance and readiness for certifications: GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, and other industry standards.

• Oversee financial and payment risk: monitor fraud, chargebacks, FX exposure, and treasury risks.

• Drive a risk-aware culture: train managers and employees on risk awareness and ensure risk considerations are embedded in decision-making.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience: 4+ years in risk management, IT risk, compliance, or related fields — preferably in the tech or IT sector.

• Leadership & ownership: Proven ability to work independently and build new processes/functions from scratch.

• Technical orientation: Familiarity with cybersecurity, data protection, and vendor risk in a digital-first or SaaS environment.

• Strategic mindset: Able to assess complex risks, prioritize effectively, and communicate recommendations to leadership.

• Certifications & standards knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and other compliance frameworks.

• Communication skills: Ability to explain risk concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical teams.

• Language: Fluent English.

• Gross salary: €3,500 - €6,000 per month. May vary depending on your skills, experience.
