How to use the proxies?

Windows 10 detects proxy settings automatically by default. Still, the detection may not work if you’re using a corporate network. One way of setting up a proxy is to use a script address you get from the network admin or the IT department. When you’re using a configuration script, note that the address will always be similar to a URL – for example, http://proxy.server.address:8000/ or similar.

Why are paid proxies better than free?

Using a free proxy is always a compromise. Their provider is often unknown, so there's no way to know how they treat your data. Cybercriminals can use free proxies to gather sensitive information or inject your device with malware or ransomware. These proxies are available for anyone, so they're often slow due to heavy traffic and can stop working completely. On the other hand, there's no need to worry about any of this with paid proxies. As long as you get them from a reliable provider, you'll know your data and online privacy are always protected. Additionally, premium residential proxies offer significantly higher speeds, advanced configuration options, and uptime of almost 100%.

FAQ

What is a HTTP proxy?

A HTTP proxy behaves as a middleman between you and the internet. It takes your requests, replaces your IP with its own, and forwards those requests to where they're supposed to go. Once it gets a response, a HTTP proxy forwards it back to you. It offers the most basic type of protection.

What is a HTTPS proxy?

HTTPS proxies are essentially the same as HTTP proxies, with a single key difference. Both the client, the proxy, and the server scramble the information they exchange so no one else can interpret them. This practice keeps data safe from anyone who might be trying to intercept it, so HTTPS proxies offer better protection than HTTP ones.

What is a SOCKS proxy?

SOCKS proxies are often used as a general-purpose solution. They don't rely on HTTP protocol, so they're more versatile and considered a lower-level proxy type. Since anyone can view the information going through a SOCKS proxy, they're not used in scenarios where maintaining privacy is crucial. They work with more protocols than HTTP/HTTPS proxies, usually offer higher speeds, and are often used to bypass different types of internet blocks like IP-based bans, etc.
