What Are Gmail Proxies?

Just like regular proxy servers, Gmail proxies are computer systems that intermediate connection from your device to the desired website, or in this case, Gmail. They hide your IP address so you can use the service privately and securely, no matter where you are in the world.

Proxies give you a different IP address which means your real location and identity won’t be revealed. This means you can access Gmail even if you’re in a country or place where the email service is banned. And, you can use it to create countless accounts for your business marketing campaign.

Most importantly, it protects your account from hackers, which is crucial for businesses that use email marketing.

Why Do You Need Proxies for Gmail?

Here are several benefits of using Gmail proxies:

  • Private internet activity

Gmail tracks your online behavior through the use of cookies and then sells it to advertisers. That’s how you get numerous targeted ads from Google. A Gmail proxy will help you avoid them by making your internet activity private.

  • Access to Gmail account in locations where it’s banned

A proxy will help you avoid location-based restrictions, such as at work, so you can create and use Gmail accounts without the risk of being monitored, throttled, or penalized.

  • Faster loading times

Sometimes Gmail takes longer to load, which can be frustrating. Using a proxy will help you avoid email loading issues and ensure faster loading times of Gmail.

  • Access to Gmail account in countries where it’s blocked

A Gmail proxy will give you access to the email service even if you’re in Gmail-banned countries, including China, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Crimea, Syria, and Sudan.

  • Protection against a Gmail hack

Using a proxy for Gmail will make your account more secure.

  • Creation of new accounts

A Gmail proxy will allow you to create a new foreign account no matter where you live.

How to Choose the Best Gmail Proxy

The ideal Gmail proxy should have a 24/7 support system to help you whenever you’re experiencing difficulties. Most private proxies offer the support you need. Also, you should choose a proxy that provides great internet speed, especially if you use your accounts for business marketing.

The number of proxies is another feature you should consider when choosing the best Gmail proxy. You want a provider that offers a decent number of proxies that can prevent IP spoofing.

Last but not least, you should aim for a private Gmail proxy that offers good security. A proxy from IPRoyal offers everything you need in a Gmail proxy – security, privacy, access to Gmail from anywhere, and faster loading times.

How to Set Up a Proxy for Gmail in Outlook

Follow these steps to set up a Gmail proxy for Outlook Express:

Find Enable IMAP in Gmail under Settings in your Gmail account and save the changes. Open Outlook Express and choose Accounts from the Tools menu. Choose the Add option and stipulate Mail. Locate the Display name section and type in your name before clicking Next. Find the Email Address option and type in your full email address before clicking Next.

Click IMAP from the drop-down menu and find the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server list. Type in “smpt.gmail.com” before clicking Next.

Type in your full email address in the Account name field. Hit Finish, find the Account choice, and highlight “imap.gmail.com”. Hit Properties and choose the Advanced tab to see the boxes which indicate that the server needs a secure connection.

Proceed with locating the Outgoing Mail box and entering “465”. You should notice “993” reflected in the port under the Incoming Mail (IMAP) heading. Find the Servers tab and check the box that says it requires authentication. Type in the Gmail username and password and hit OK to begin.

FAQ
You can use datacenter and residential proxies, but residential ones are a better option as they come from ISPs and use real mobile and desktop devices.
Although any type of residential proxies would do well, it’s best to choose private residential proxies and geo-targetable residential proxies.
Avoid using free proxies as these are not recommended for Gmail. Using a premium Gmail proxy like IPRoyal will help you avoid getting flagged by Google.
