Migration Guide
Your workflow doesn't have to stall while you switch providers. Here's how to migrate to IPRoyal without losing time.
- Fast, white-glove migration
- Hands-on setup support
- Infrastructure built for scale
- Flexible plans, no lock-ins
What to Do First?
Here's what to take care of before you migrate, without needing acess to your old provider.
- Document your setup
Identify every endpoint, credential set, and integration tied to your previous provider across your environments. This lives in your own systems, so consolidate it before you begin.
- Remove your credentials
Once you have decided to switch, treat your old credentials as something to retire. Remove them from every script, config file, and integration as you migrate, so nothing is left behind.
- Check your billing
Review recent card charges and cancel any auto top-ups tied to your old provider, so nothing continues to bill. If you spot anything you don't recognize, contact your bank or card provider directly.
- Watch for phishing
Be cautious of unsolicited outreach about refunds or account changes from any provider you are leaving. If you did not initiate contact yourself, treat it as suspicious.
Migration Steps
1. Create an IPRoyal Account
Sign up at IPRoyal with your email and password and get access to a self-service dashboard within minutes.
2. Choose Your Proxy Type
Your setup doesn’t need to change. Match what you had: ISP Proxies for static residential, Residential for rotating, Mobile for mobile, Datacenter for datacenter. At signup, IPRoyal recommends the type suited to your needs.
3. Order Your Proxies
Select your locations and choose a plan or traffic volume depending on your proxy type. Complete your order and instantly access your proxy credentials.
4. Replace Your Endpoints
Replace the endpoint, not your workflow. Swap your old provider's host for geo.iproyal.com and update the port. Everything else in your integration stays the same.
5. Update Authentication
Set your IPRoyal username and password, or skip credentials entirely with IP whitelisting. Either method works across your dashboard and integrations.
6. Verify Your Setup
Use the free Proxy Tester in your dashboard to verify location, connectivity, speed, and protocol type for each proxy.
7. Complete the Migration
Confirm every script, tool, and integration points to IPRoyal, then remove any leftover credentials still tied to your old provider from your systems.
