When we entered the proxy market as a provider, it was already competitive, so we had to find a way to become more visible. Right now, we are glad to report that our strategy to focus on educational content is providing results.
In 2024, we released over 50 educational videos to our YouTube channel and over 100 informational articles on our blog. We set high-quality standards for our writers, content creators, and editors to ensure each detail is factually accurate. Additionally, we performed rigorous testing of every concept we covered to verify it in practice. The result? A user base growth of 33%.
Content That Brings Value
Proxy servers optimize online data routes, assist with web scraping, and add an additional level of online privacy by masking the original IP address. However, many businesses and casual internet users are unaware of these benefits due to the lack of informational content.
Instead of centering our content around keyword-optimized landing pages, we started building a knowledge base to solve issues that proxy users may encounter. For example, our visitors can learn how to scrape eBay using Python , check the top 10 data extraction tools in 2025 , and so much more.
Although such content does not necessarily result in a purchase, it offers exceptional value to our visitors who are likely to come back. Furthermore, competing with the biggest proxy brands for keywords felt like an expensive bidding battle, so we also focused on content that brings actual value.
IPRoyal’s Content Quality Assurance
Firstly, we want to ensure that our content is relevant to existing and future proxy users. Google Trends is particularly useful for identifying search volumes in our core market, the US, but also for spotting user queries in other countries.
One of the biggest challenges is finding writers and content creators who have extensive industry expertise and the ability to present this knowledge in a meaningful way. This way, we release content that is technically demanding but also easy to understand for readers who may lack extensive computer networking knowledge.
Lastly, content quality assurance glues all of it together. We verify our proxy compatibility whenever we test software and go through application features to measure its performance. Whenever required, our developers confirm that the most challenging proxy aspects are represented correctly to build trust with our community.
Making Our Content Visible
Producing content was the first step, but we also wanted to make it visible. Once again, centering solely around keywords proved inefficient due to highly specific proxy-related keywords.
We deployed solutions from Google’s Performance Max toolkit to match user queries with our educational content. This tool uses a variety of audience signals (device type, geographical location, browsing history, etc.) to land users on relevant blog posts instead of using only a few landing pages.
PMax also proved to be an efficient tool for identifying lucrative opportunities outside of our core market. With the help of these tools, we were able to spot content opportunities worldwide, resulting in a 33% user growth.
