Proxies for ScrapeBox

There are several ways to use a proxy with ScrapeBox, but setting up the proxy at the router level is the primary way. This method allows total protection for every ScrapeBox session without extra configuration steps.

If you are unable or unwilling to configure the router for the proxy, you can load proxy addresses directly into ScrapeBox via the following steps:

Launch ScrapeBox version 2.0 or later From the main window, locate the proxy group and click Manage In the ProxyManager window, click the Load Proxies button Select the desired method of loading proxies from the popup menu

The proxies that you load must be in the following format for ScrapeBox to automatically recognize them:

 IP address:port number:user:pass

 Pay attention to the colon (:) between each field, and note that the actual entries should not contain spaces. For example, a real proxy configuration item may look like the following:

 146.128.55.21:8080:testuser:secret123

Once you add the proxies into ScrapeBox, you can test the proxies to ensure that everything is working as intended. To test the proxy within ScrapeBox, follow these steps:

From the main ScrapeBox window, locate the proxy group and click Manage In the ProxyManager window, click the Test Proxies button Click the desired method for testing proxies from the popup menu

As the proxy test proceeds, the results list will display whether a particular proxy passes or fails. The speed of each proxy will also show in milliseconds.

While the proxy test in ScrapeBox is beneficial, there is one caveat regarding backconnect proxies. Due to how backconnect proxies work, they will always appear to fail the ScrapeBox proxy test. This failure is a “false negative” and does not indicate an actual malfunction of the proxy. Instead, the backconnect proxy rotates IPs before the test completes, generating an incorrect failure result.
